This 5 week moderated online module will address specific communication techniques required of you as a researcher, as you navigate through complex relationships and a diversity of stakeholders within the world of local and global collaborative initiatives.
Critical and Creative Thinking
Learn about critical and creative thinking approaches, techniques and tools and apply them throughout your candidature. Examine conventional accounts of critical and creative thinking and compare approaches across fields of practice. Learn about the balance of logic, knowledge, belief, behaviour, and action involved in critical and creative thinking.
Digital Competencies for Researchers
Develop a set of digital practices, behaviours and identities that inform your academic and professional practices. Communicate, collaborate and innovate your research and digitalise your career. Learn about the impact of big data and datasets on research and utilise data analytics, digital creation and data visualisation.
Emotional Intelligence for Researchers
Learn about strategies for accelerating significant change by shifting your mindset, behaviour, and actions in order to accomplish your objectives. Identify your values in order to effectively manage your personal life and research career more efficiently through enhanced self-awareness, self-management, conflict resolution and emotional intelligence.
Introduction to coding for Researchers
Learn about the web development languages HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It is a practical module. While getting to know these languages, you will be building your own website, creating an online career portfolio which includes tables, quizzes and webpage layouts to promote your research and future publications.
Write your journal article in twelve weeks
Gain practical experience writing a research article for a peer-reviewed journal. Participate in a focused and supportive learning environment and turn a draft paper into a quality article to submit for publication. Get your publication written and submitted to a journal by the end of the module. Stay focused and engaged in a step-by-step process. Receive feedback from other researchers as you progress your writing.
Module participation requires flexible & online study for about 3-5 hours per week during five weeks, at a time that suits you.
