biotechnology: the use of living things such as bacteria or cells in industrial processes

cloning: the process of making an exact copy of an animal or plant

ethical: relating to beliefs about what is right and wrong

genetic engineering: changing the genetic structure of an organism to make it stronger or more useful for humans

genetically modified: a plant or animal having some of their genes changed to improve their structure or use

nanotechnology: an area of science requiring powerful microscopes in using or making things that are extremely small

stem cell: a cell taken from a person or an animal that can develop into any other kind of cell

sustainability: to produce goods and services in a way that causes little or no damage to the environment
