About me:
Ebony Wheatley
I am a permanent School Learning Support Officer – Student Health Support (SLSO SHS) for the NSW Department of Education. I have worked as an SLSO for 8 years in various settings including Schools for Specific Purposes (SSP), Mainstream, and Units. I have obtained a Certificate III in Education Support as well as completed some University Foundation Studies subjects. Throughout my time working in NSW Public Schools, I have been inspired to further my career and training and have also been mentored by professional colleagues, members of the executive team and my family and friends to expand on my knowledge, skills, and relationships. I am inspired to become a teacher because I love to teach. I have spent my adult career so far in NSW public schools, refining my aspirations and teaching feels challenging, natural and a good fit for my skills. I enjoy providing support for students and families to access quality educational programs.

I have lived in Picton, NSW for 8 years with my family. In my spare time, I enjoy designing and making crafts, photography, going to musicals and spending time with my family and friends. I have also completed a cooking course at Julie Goodwin’s ‘Julie’s Place’ cooking school which was an amazing experience and an opportunity to further my skills in cooking. My goal is to complete the Bachelor of Educational Studies and follow on to the Masters of Teaching Primary to become a Teacher in the Inclusive Education field.
