Electronic Literature by Scott Rettberg

Book Cover: Rettberg, S. (2018). Electronic literature. John Wiley & Sons. I enjoyed this book more than the Hayles one, perhaps because it was written in a less academic and more approachable style. Rettberg provides an similar, if more recent, overview of trends and genres but has a circular approach to each chapter that ties everything up nicely. Reading this, I was more inspired to take a look at interactive fiction and kinetic poetry, whereas, after reading Hayles, I felt my lack of experience with those forms, even if I could grasp the literary and philosophical points she was making, resulted in me being less confident to explore.
