Mr.Perfect is a stage play. I portrayed Liz, Finance publisher by profession, who modifies her life after her social group and has insecurities that she overcomes by portraying herself as “important”. She’s a workaholic, reserved, inhibited working woman with no time to rest. When she catches up with her high school best friend Elizabeth causing her to break her bubble and stepping out to reality, but would she step out?
This is a memorable performance for me, mainly because she has a standard, reputation that she likes to maintain until she opens up. This type of character changes due to time, therefore Laban’s work and analyzation were put dearly to create this character. I pictured her as a ‘swan’ because of the tale “Ugly Duckling”, where the duckling tries to find her home while traveling she tries to fit into the different habitat. Along with the director Deanna Taylor and co-star Bernadette Cutler we created a masterpiece that shows what the world is changing into today.
