About me
I am a new student at CSU who has enrolled in a Bachelor of Adult and Vocational Education. I have worked in a range of roles over the last ten years, predominantly in community services, and more recently in Vocational Education and Training. I have found that although the scope may change when working in different roles across these sectors, both cohorts have similar characteristics; as does the fundamental responsibility of supporting individuals on their path of self-development. To be skilled in written communication is a valuable tool. I believe it is the ideal mode to demonstrate one’s academic ability, as long as the process allows for time to create, draft, reflect, refine, and craft a message that is free from impulse. I look forward to the opportunity of developing these skills with the guidance of mentors who have demonstrated experience in this context at CSU.
To maintain a healthy lifestyle balance, I value the importance of self-care and practice this in several ways when I am not in the workplace. My choice of recreational activities ranges from team sports, long walks with my dogs, gardening, and most importantly – creating art. I see art as an effective way to express emotion in a truly unique sense that is void of any barriers or constraints. I have always considered the composition of music to be a liberating art form, especially when in conjunction with the writing of meaningful lyrics. Music and writing combine to construct an ideal creative canvas for artists to demonstrate wit, character, and individuality, which can be a true and accurate reflection of themselves.
