Grammar Knowledge Enhancement Activity
The following grammar activity is designed to build confidence in trainee teachers’ use of grammar in the classroom. This is based on actual grammar questions faced in a TESOL class. Fear of Grammar is one of the reasons people either give up a TESOL course, or don’t even enroll in one in the first place.
NOTE: The aim of this process is to help you familiarize yourself with attending to ESL student questions that you don’t immediately know the answer to. It’s not necessary to have to know every grammar rule prior to beginning your teaching career – although it is absolutely necessary you can locate and explain them via research. This activity will help you become familiar with this process.
