Dr Derya Iner
Derya Iner is the editor of the CISAC Research page, Senior Lecturer and Research Coordinator at the Centre for Islamic Studies, Charles Sturt University. She teaches and researches subjects on contemporary issues related to Islam, Islamic cultures and Muslims. She completed her PhD in Cultural Studies and Gender Studies in Wisconsin-Madison (USA). Her research focuses on Islamophobia, especially women and children’s experience with Islamophobia, Western Muslim Youth and Religious identity, and early twentieth-century Ottoman intellectual history. She is the chief investigator and editor of the Islamophobia in Australia Reports, which grabbed worldwide attention by reaching out to a potential 730 million international audiences by media coverage (reported by CSU media metrics).
