Project Synopsis

Journal Synopsis

The aim of the project is to understand the concept of edge computing, its effectiveness with generic IoT and time-critical IoT application and devices, and the current trends in processing IoT data.

The primary source of information was through articles downloaded from various databases where the content of the materials was closely related to the topic mentioned. Some materials though containing relevant information, also had huge of information which had to be skimmed or skipped thus leading to the challenge of keeping it to just twelve (12) published article.

Though starting out considering Edge computing paradigm to be a separate or new concept and given me the idea of it being an branch out of cloud computing. Time-critical IoT framework would work best with a computing paradigm offering low latency and minimal bandwidth issues. Time critical IoT framework is rapidly evolving and with it brings numerous researchers who are envisioning prototypes for these issues

Edge Computing with a blend with other paradigm could best serve the issues and challenges with the massive influx of IoT. Though Cloud Computing is largely used with IoT, the turnaround time would determine which architecture would best suit to address these challenges. Edge computing architecture implemented for in a Time-critical IoT application and devices seems to be the best way forward.
