Undergraduate Electives
To graduate with the Bachelor of Border Management in addition to completing the core CUS subjects (168 credit points) you must also complete 24 credit points or 3 single subjects as electives. Electives fall into two groups being Pre-approved subjects and Other Subjects. The design of the Bachelor of Border Management course requires you to take at least 3 x single subject electives from the wider Charles Sturt University catalogue of subject offerings.
Pre-approved subjects
The Centre for Law and Justice and the Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security (AGSPS) at CSU provide many subjects in areas such as law enforcement, investigations, terrorism and safety, emergency management, leadership and security which when taken as electives would contribute to the learning outcomes of our course. The following list of subjects from their catalogues are pre-approved electives for the Bachelor of Border Management:

* Note these subjects can only be taken if you have already taken any second or third year JST subject (ie JST2** ot JST3**) as assumed knowledge.

Any enrolment restrictions specified in the Handbook against any of the subjects in this list are waived for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Border Management except for JST318 and JST320 (See note above).
Other Subjects
You may for instance be interested in furthering your skills and knowledge in particular aspects of management such as indigenous studies, accounting, statistics, human resources and other more general aspects of border management. Where you chose electives outside the above lists you will need to obtain the permission of the Course Director to enrol. Except for 100 level subjects offered by the School of Indigenous Australian Studies students should should choose 200 or 300 series subjects. The decision to support or reject your elective enrolment will be solely focused on whether or not, in the Course Director’s opinion, your elective choice would contribute to the learning outcomes for the course.
