Hi and welcome to my ‘blog. My name is Shane and this is my submission for Charles Sturt University subject INF205: Literature and Other Resources for Children and Young Adults. This is a Reading Guide focusing on literature for secondary school students (ages approximately 12-17) that may identify as LGBTQ+. These ten resources have all been banned – or at least challenged – from school libraries and in some cases, public libraries. I believe these are important pieces of literature for anyone who falls outside of the heteronormative and the binary, and should be made available to teenagers to explore their options and figure out who they are and where they belong.
