Britannica Kids

Britannica Kids is a great website for pages with general, reliable information on lots of topics. It is published by the Encyclopaedia Britannica Incoprorated who have been gathering and communicating reliable information from experts for nearly 250 years (Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2021). Sometimes there is a request to subscribe at the top of the website, but you can scroll down to search. You can choose Kids or Students to get information that is easy for you to read and understand depending on your reading level or how much information you want.
Britannica is an American website so look out for some different spellings of words and more general information about Australia. Try searching for ‘wildfires’ or ‘forest fires’ as well as ‘bushfires’.
National Geographic Kids

National Geographic Kids has its own Australian website so you will have more information about Australian bushfires. Sometimes the articles include advertisements for books but there is still good information within those articles. National Geographic also publish books you may have seen in our school library or on Epic. Important words are written in bold and can be used in other searches to make sure you understand what you are reading (National Geographic Kids, n.d.)
