Many of Australia’s birds are under threat due to habitat destruction (e.g. bushfires), agriculture, predators and invasive species. Many migratory birds are also in decline due to inadequate roost protection and ever-increasing pollution. Action groups are doing what they can to help lessen the threat to our beautiful birds by studying, contributing to science, collecting data and raising awareness of conservation efforts and advocacy. The following links offer a range of conservation-related resources and plans.
The Australian Bird Study Association Inc (ABSA) aims to support, encourage and promote the study of Australian birds and contribute to their conservation.
