Ahhh! Information overload
I can’t say that I am any closer to narrowing my answer to: What is the definition of information? After reading the readings for this week, it is clear that defining, ‘information’ is complex. Whether we are talking about the types, orders, categories or concepts of information, I have come to the conclusion that information is a resource that can be perceived, communicated, received and interpreted. Information can be isolated and stand on its own but when put into a context and given a purpose, provide meaning and knowledge. Information is all around us and can take on many forms; objects, books, documents, conversation, sounds and smells etc. It is always being produced, replicated, and distributed. Information has no limits and is forever changing.
