After completing the conflict resolution questionnaire I was not particularly surprised with the results. As can be seen in the results below my go to solution for dealing with conflict in the workplace and my private life is avoidance. I do not like getting into situations that might lead to conflict and regularly try and change the subject or remove myself from the situation if conflict is the likely outcome. As a teacher and more so now as the teacher librarian where I am dealing with staff and students from all areas of the school community I need to become more open to at least attempting to deal with conflict rather than letting others win. I find I need to stand up for myself, my teaching and my beliefs to be able to proivde a more successful and engaging library space for my school community.
