What do I know about children’s literature. Well that is really a good question and not something I had considered previously. I know I have a love for children’s literature but I suppose when I think about it more critically I have a love and passion for picture books. I guess typically when I consider children’s literature I think picture books and non-fiction texts targeted at children. I am aware of some of the genres that children’s fiction and non-fiction fall under but hadn’t really considered them on a deeper level.

From all this my number one strategy to increase me knowledge of different forms of children’s literature will be to read and explore. Not only the literature itself but also the research and articles around the different types of literature. I would also like to visit the local library and explore some of the wider genres and types of children’s literature available.
