I personally think this is a crazy thought. Are we ever going to say, “Is a classroom teacher a endangered species, is a principle an endangered species?”.

I don’t think any of these positions including a TL is an endangered species but rather a position that isn’t always valued or visible in many school communities.

As a TL it is vital that we are adaptable and able to support our students and staff in ways that are relevant to the teaching and learning styles and programs that run in different schools. This means we need to be able to upskill and be willing to upskill to not only make ourselves as desirable assets within a school environment but also as expert educators that can guide and support our students and staff in a wide range of skills and knowledge.
