I really found this particular section of the module very informative. Have I ever really thought about what information is? No. I also have never really considered the different elements and definitions of information and how it can be used I different ways.
A point that really resonated with me from the learning material was the discussion around that the information seeker (us/our students or anyone really) must do something with the classic definition of information (data) to develop it into knowledge. I think this really applies in a school classroom/library setting as we can provide students with out own knowledge but initially to them this information may just be unorganised data. They will need to take the data/information and do something with it to develop it into useful information/knowledge.
This section of the module has also made me consider the many ways information can be defined and used in such different ways for different purposes and how it can impact ways we communicate and share knowledge.
