Professor Kevin Orr is a Professor of Work and Learning and Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) at the University of Huddersfield, UK. Prior to joining the university sector, he taught in Further Education (FE) Colleges, focussing on ESOL and teacher education provision. In 2014 Professor Orr was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship for his work around vocational education by the Higher Education Academy. Professor Orr’s research expertise includes vocational education and training and Teacher education and professional development in the Further Education Sector. He is currently leading a three-year national research project on initial teacher education for science, engineering and technology teachers working in colleges.
Craig Robertson, CEO, TAFE Directors Association
Craig Robertson commenced as CEO of TAFE Directors Australia in April 2017. The organisation promotes nationally and internationally the critical role that TAFEs play in tertiary education in Australia. In this role he is also the Chair of the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics which is a global network of associations and institutions committed to high quality professional and technical education and training.
Prior to joining TDA Craig worked in the Victorian Government in 2015 and 2016 with responsibilities for the operation of vocational education and working with Victorian universities.
Craig also worked for over 30 years in the Commonwealth Government with responsibilities in national policy and program delivery relating to employment services, funding for schools and most aspects of vocational education and training. Craig was also an inaugural member of the Australian Qualifications Framework Council formed in 2011.
Craig holds an Executive Masters in Public Administration and Bachelor of Education (Primary).

Mr Jonathan Davis, Relieving Regional General Manager, Region South, TAFE NSW
Jonathan is the Relieving Regional General Manager for TAFE NSW Region South and is based at Albury. Jonathan’s substantive role is Head of Customer and Stakeholder Relations for Region South. Prior to this he was the Managing Director of Federation Training (Victorian TAFE Institute) and has over 25 years’ experience in Vocational Education and Training with the majority of that time spent in a leadership and management role. He has also worked as an Operations Director for the Cancer Council of Victoria.
Jonathan has spent most of his career in the UK and his last role was Principal and Chief Executive at Ludlow College, Shropshire, England.
Jonathan’s focus is on improving the student experience, improving the quality of teaching and learning and strengthening our engagement with community and industry so that we can continue to be the education and training provider of choice.
