My name is Ben Kereopa-Yorke and I’m a Master of Cyber Security student completing my capstone thesis project in my last semester at Charles Sturt University.
I am currently a Global Product Manager in Cyber Security working at Telstra. My professional background is in IT in general and Cyber Security Operations specifically.
My project will focus on a rigorous exploration of the possible applications of recent research in Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security, mainly in the possibilities of the use of Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and APIs to further the democratisation of Security Policy and Architecture creation for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
Traditionally SMEs have suffered from a lack of domain knowledge, time and human resources to formulate tailored security policies and security architecture for their business infrastructure and IT. Recent advances in both the underlying technology and efficacy of LLMs and NLP to provide natural language generation for a wide variety of use-cases, along with the low price-point for access to these LLMs by companies like OpenAI, has created potential applications for a variety of cyber security functions and defense capabilities.
My research and thesis will explore the state of the art, answer key research questions and have key deliverables.
