This pathfinder will help you develop your critical and creative thinking skills as you explore sources covering past and current viewpoints and perspectives. You will use these skills to select and analyse relevant and reliable historical sources.
Ethical understanding:
Understanding the motives and actions of people throughout history can help you understand the thoughts and behaviour of some people today. It can help you understand why societies hold particular values and help you work out right and wrong conduct.
Information and communication technology capability:
This pathfinder will help you develop skills to help you search, locate, process and communicate historical information using a variety of information technologies. You will learn how to navigate and use websites efficiently to ensure the information used is current, relevant, authoritative, accurate and purposeful (C.R.A.A.P.) (Blakeslee, 2004).

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures:
You will find information where you can examine historical perspectives from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander viewpoints. You will learn of the significant roles that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have played in Australian society and around the world. This helps us understand the need for all Australians to contribute to a more equitable society through genuine reconciliation by acknowledging the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, past and present.
