Journal Synopsis
The purpose of this report is to study the feasibility of the IoT solutions in monitoring illegal logging in National Parks. The research method used here is the literature review. It is associated with finding the most relevant research articles from credible sources for a feasibility study in implementing IoT solutions to monitor illegal cutting down of trees. The study focuses mainly on the practicality of the different IoT devices and communications options. The research is based on the study of the twelve most relevant papers. However, there have been other ten articles of similar categories excluded for this research due to credibility issues, published year, and irrelevancy content. This research is expected to produce a fundamental recommendation of IoT solutions involving IoT devices, network types and cost-effective solutions to improve efficiency while minimizing the cost. There seem to be fewer articles based on the feasibility study of IoT solutions in illegal logging. Thus, the feasibility study of the IoT solutions in forest monitoring is important to guide through the implementation. To recap, the research project will help forest Departments and private forest owners to make the right choice of IoT devices, network protocols, and other technology involved reducing cost, improve efficiency and productivity.
