I have been involved in education since 2010 and I’m currently the Head of Humanities at Riverside Christian College, an independent school in Queensland. Over the past few years I have been a teacher of Modern History, Ancient History and Business studies for Grade 9-12. I have continuously strived to develop my skills and knowledge as an educator. I have done this through connecting online with educators, sharing and collaborating, and constantly reading and applying new ideas in my classrooms.
During 2014 I have presented at the EduTECH TeachMeet sessions and at CSA Queensland Conference, organised TeachMeets, ran Tech Tools Tuesday sessions at school and participated in various online communities. The highlight of 2014 was being selected to participate in the Google Teacher Academy in Sydney under the guidance of NoTosh duo, Tom Barrett and Hamish Currie.
I’m married to a wonderful educator in her own right, Jacqui, and we have fun, quirky, energetic little 4yr old girl that keeps us busy. We moved to Australia from South Africa in 2009 and lived in Brisbane before moving to Maryborough.
I love connecting with teachers and sharing ideas.
