Over the past few days I have been browsing and reading through the modules hoping to decide on my three different forms of digital literature for the first graded assessment for #INF533.
It has been an arduous task. I really wanted three completely different texts, and I think I have that covered.
The following texts will be used for this assignment-
TitanicVoyage – @TitanicRealTime
TitanicVoyage is a retelling of the Titanic story- “Experience Titanic’s epic journey with minute-by-minute tweets as if from on board the ship itself”. I chose this text as I remember watching the tweets live and was fascinated by it, it combines my two loves, learning and Twitter!
Sherlock- Interactive Adventure is an iPad Book App. It is fairly new and claims that it “will make you look at interactive books in a whole new light”. I have a few book apps on my iPad and love using them whenever I get a chance to get into a classroom at school. I am interested to see what this one will be like.
I am excited about this one, and can not believe I hadn’t heard of it before. A Story Before Bed lets you record yourself reading a children’s storybook…pretty cool…but better yet, it also lets you have a Google Hangout to read the story in real time to others. Nice.
So there you have it.
I am pretty sure each of the digital texts I have chosen will allow me to experience and evaluate different features of literature and literacy in digital environments and come to an understanding of some of the emerging texts and literary experiences in education.
What do you think?
